Website & email hosting for groups

Your group’s website and email, set up and looked after for you.

Gasda hosts your website and your mailboxes on your own domain, and handles the fiddly parts like DNS, HTTPS and spam settings. Your volunteers get to spend their time on the club, not the tech.

Made for groups run by busy people

If your website lives with whoever set it up years ago, and your club email is a shared password nobody remembers, this is for you.

  • Clubs and hobby groups

Garden clubs, car clubs, choirs, makers. A home page, your news, and an address members recognize.

  • Youth sports leagues

Schedules and season info in one place, and a contact address that stays put when the volunteers change.

  • HOAs and neighborhood associations

Notices, minutes and a board address that can be handed from one board to the next.

  • Churches and faith groups

Service times, newsletters, and email for staff and ministry leaders on your own name.

  • Nonprofits and volunteer groups

A credible website and email on your own domain, without needing a tech volunteer on call.

  • Small associations and teams

Professional addresses on your own domain and a website that someone else keeps running.

Addresses that outlast volunteers. When email lives on your own domain, treasurer@yourclub.org can be passed to the next treasurer, along with its history. No more chasing a former volunteer for a password.

Everything your group needs to be online

Pick what you need. If you want both a website and email, we set them up together so they work with each other from day one.

Four steps, and only the first one is yours

  1. Your part

    Tell us what you need

Send us a short email: your group, your domain if you have one, and what you use today. Not sure what you need? Say so, and we’ll suggest something.

  2. We set it all up

Website, mailboxes, DNS records and HTTPS. If you’re moving from another host, we plan the move with you.

  3. You start using it

Members open webmail in a browser or add the account to the mail app on their phone. We send you the settings they need.

  4. We keep it running

We look after the servers and backups. When you need a change, a new mailbox or help, just email us.

Why your email lands in the inbox, not the spam folder

Gmail, Outlook and other big mail services check every message for proof that it really came from the domain it claims to. When that proof is missing, even an honest newsletter from your club can be sent to spam or turned away. The proof lives in three small records in your domain’s settings. You’ve probably never had to think about them, and with us you won’t have to. We set them up for you.

  • SPF: The guest list

A public list of the servers allowed to send mail for your domain. Mail from anywhere else looks suspicious.

  • DKIM: The wax seal

A digital signature on every message you send, so the receiving side can tell it really came from you and wasn’t changed along the way.

  • DMARC: The instructions

Tells receiving services what to do with mail that fails those checks, and asks them to send reports back, so problems and impostors can be spotted.

Honest note: nobody can promise that every message reaches every inbox. What you write and the recipient’s own settings matter too. But missing or broken records are a common reason a small group’s mail ends up in spam, and that part we handle and check for you.

Want a server of your own? Get a VM with root.

Not everyone wants things managed. If you’d rather run your own stack, we’ll give you a virtual machine and get out of your way.

  • Root access. Install, configure and run what you choose. It’s your machine.
  • Gasda-operated hardware. Your VM runs on equipment we own and operate, in a professional datacenter.
  • The people who run it. Questions go to the same people who look after the hardware.
you@laptop:~$ ssh root@your-vm
root@your-vm:~# whoami
root
root@your-vm:~# # the rest is up to you
root@your-vm:~#

Questions groups ask us

How much does it cost?

It depends on what your group needs: a website, email, or both, how many mailboxes, and how much setup help you want. Email us a few lines about your group and we’ll reply with a quote.

Can you move us from our current host?

Yes, we help with that. Tell us who hosts your website and email today, and we’ll plan the move with you, including when to switch your domain over, so the change is as smooth as possible for your members.

Do we need to buy a domain?

You need a domain name, like yourclub.org, for your website and email addresses. If you already have one, we’ll work with it. If you don’t, we’ll help you get one set up.

Either way, we recommend the domain is registered in your group’s name, so it always stays yours.

Can our members check mail on their phones?

Yes. Mailboxes work with standard IMAP and SMTP, which the built-in mail apps on iPhone and Android, Outlook, Thunderbird and most others support. Members can also read and send mail in a web browser with webmail. We send you the settings to share.

Will our email end up in spam?

We set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain, the records big mail services check before trusting a message. That takes care of a common reason small groups’ mail gets filtered. Nobody can guarantee every message lands in every inbox, but your domain will be set up properly. More on how this works.

What if we want to manage things ourselves?

Tell us how hands-on you want to be and we’ll talk it through. If you want full control of your own server, that’s what our VMs are for: you get root access and run it your way.

Who do we contact when we need help?

Email support@gasda.xyz. It goes to real people at Gasda, the same people who set up and run your hosting.

Tell us about your group

A few lines is plenty: who you are, your domain if you have one, and what you use today. We’ll reply with what we’d set up and a quote.
